What Causes Lack Of Libido?

Hello, please i am very upset and frustrated.... I have t make sex with my husband for 3 years....i just found out that he masterbates in all that time...He insists that is not a real problem because if i wanted sex i should just said or come to him....but i did.... And he sais he didn t realised what i wanted.... He sais that he doesn t watch porn he just do it like fiziologic need and that he does that very rare....like once a month..... But i have the need to have sex too....i can t masturbate, i can t finish myself.... I want to have sex with him... He sais ok, when you want came and say and will see how we meet in the night (because we have 2 small children) But is it normal for me to beg for sex and come and solicitate that... He said that he didn t realised that for me is a frustrated situation to not have se at all and not even had in aour relationship nice living words.... I think that is a problem.... He sais i am the only one who sees it like a probleme, and if i want sex, he will give me sex.... But i did many times in nice and sexy words...i came next to him.naked...nothing.... Is here a problem or not? Can he masterbats without watching porn? He sais he is doing it without porn or having any fantesies.... It brakes my heart because i am convinced he lies.... Is it something wrong with me or with him? Is there a major problem or a small one? Thank you.... Your answer means a lot to me because i am from Romania and here we don t have the oportunity to ask this kind of questions.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Common causes for a loss of sexual desire and drive in women include:

1. Job stress, peer pressure, and media images of sexuality can negatively influence sexual desire.

2. Partner performance problems, lack of emotional satisfaction with the relationship, the birth of a child, and becoming a caregiver for a loved one can decrease sexual desire.

3. Low Testosterone affects the sexual drive in both men and women.

4. Medical problems: Mental illnesses such as depression, or medical conditions, such as endometriosis, fibroids, and thyroid disorders, impact a woman's sexual drive both mentally and physically.

5.Medications: Certain antidepressants, blood pressure-lowering drugs, and oral contraceptives can lower sexual drive.

6. Age. Blood levels of androgens fall continuously in women as they age. Don't worry you would be fine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
