What Causes Lack Of Mobility In Thumb After Hand Injury?

I recently fell and scraped the palm of my hand badly (right on the thumb bone). I got it checked out 2 days after the fall because it wasn't healing well and they said it was infected and gave me antibiotics and cleaned it. I clean and change the bandages 2x a day and am taking care of it like they told me to, and the scrape seems to be healing (though slowly) however I haven't gained back mobility in my thumb. I can move it slightly, but to do anything more causes pain. Is this something that's going to get better once the wound itself heals, or do I need to get it checked out?
