What Causes Large Cyst On Tonsil And Swollen Taste Buds?

I discovered a large cyst on my tonsil three days ago. I am now developing swollen taste buds and bumps on my soft palate. My doctor said as long as I didn't develop pain, fever or breathing troubles she was not concerned with the cyst. I did not have the additional symptoms when I saw her.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain Tonsillar cyst can occur due to a number of reasons and can be of different origins.
It is commonly painless but can become tender and painful if it gets infected..
As you are already developed swollen taste buds and bumps over soft palate they are the signs of infection and you should be cautious as the cyst may get infected and further become painful and large in size..

A of now do warm saline gargles and take a 5 days course of antibiotics like AZITHROMYCIN 500 mg once daily..
Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
In case if the cyst increases in size then surgical removal of the cyst has to be done..
In case if the cysts become excessively large in size then tonsillectomy is also done..

Consult an ENT surgeon and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
