What Causes Large, Deep Zits On The Edge Of My Upper Lip?

For the past 2 or 3 months, I have been getting large, deep zits on the edge of my upper lip. It's usually in the same place, either side of the top of my lips. How do I get rid of these? Is there anything causing it? I am 17 years old, female, and weigh about 115 pounds. I don't get bad acne anywhere else, just on my upper lip.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain recurring large deep zits over the upper lip can be due to Herpes Virus Infection causing cold sores and it is a recurring viral infection..
The other causes can be bacterial infection, allergic reaction,acne etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations depending upon the suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.
In case if herpes is suspected you will be advised to take oral and topical antiviral medications like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir etc as it will help in reducing the frequency of outbreaks of the infection..
If it is not due to herpes treatment of other causes will depend upon diagnosis..
