What Causes Large Pea Sized Lump Under Upper Lip On Jaw Bone?

I have a lump the size of a large pea under my upper lip on my jaw bone rightnesr the bottom of my nose. I have had crowns fitted to my front teeth about 4months ago and the dentist has checked X-rays for possible infections but nothing has been detected on the X-ray. He has performed a root canal on a tooth near it and still this didn t effect the size of the lump. I was also on antibiotics not so long ago and the lump seemed to grow larger when on then and once course was finished went back to the normal pea size lump! Any ideas on what itay be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a lump on the gums can be due to a number of reasons like:
1.Gum abscess..
2.Periodontal abscess..
3.Periapical cyst..
4.Jaw cyst
5.Pyogenic Granuloma.
6.Cancerous tumors of jaw.

It is better to consult an Oral Pathologist and get evaluated and get a full mouth x ray known as Orthopantomogram or OPG done..
You may also need a Biopsy to confirm the diagnosis..
Any treatment can be planned only after a correct diagnosis is made after clinical examination and laboratory investigations..

Hope this information helps..
