Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a large deep purple bruise behind my knee. I don t recall doing anything to have caused this. I first noticed this about five weeks ago and it hasn t gotten any better. Maybe a little larger. The bruise does not hurt and hasn t changed in color. What should I do?
Hello and welcome to nHCM,
Bruise on knee can be due to low platelet count or due to disorders of coagulation factors.
You need to get complete hemogram, platelet counts, bleeding time, clotting time, PT, aPTT and INR done.
These investigations will determine whether there is disorder of platelets or coagulation factors.
Treatment can be planned after diagnosis of the condition.
