What Causes Large White Spot On The Top Of Shoulder?

I have a rather large white spot on top of my shoulder that appeared last year after my bra strap rubbed it raw. It was fire red and aggravated for the longest and now stays white even when exposed to sun. Is it possible that the constant contact with bra straps made it permanent

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be vitiligo. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Psoralen containing tablets may be taken under observation of dermatologist. Apply Tacrolimus 0.1% ointment on the patch thrice a day. Continue treatment for long time without break. There may be re-pigmentation in patch.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel
