What Causes Late Periods After Having Birth Control Pills?

My last period, i took 2 birth control pills to stop my period and it worked. Now it is a month later and i am 8 days late on my period. My breasts are sore and i am having period pains. I have never had any sexual activity. I started my period 3 years ago. I am only 15.
