What Causes Late Periods And Brown Spotting After Coil Insertion?

Hi, i have had the coil fitted a month ago today, my period is a little late ive been getting some dark brown spotting and cramps in the past week.. im startin to freak myself out about being pregant!! the past week i keep thinkin my period has come... but it has not.. PLEASE help
