What Causes Late Periods And Negative Pregnancy Tests?

Hi, my girlfriend and I use birth control and the pull out method. Her last period was late and kind of weak. This time she is now 5-6 days late. We have two negative pregnancy tests also. She still hasn't had her period and her stomach is upset in the morning sometimes. Any advice as to what can be going on?
