What Causes Leakage Of Fluid From Incision Site After Tumor Removal?
I had a procedure done on my liver to get rid of a tumor. They made a small incision next to my private area in the front and now there is like a water leak dripping down my leg and it wont stop and any kind of bandaid or bandage wont stop it. How do I stop it?
Hi. Thanks for your query . The leakage of fluid from any of the incision usually stops within 1 to 3 weeks. If it does not stop you need further investigations to decide the cause and get treated accordingly. I would advise you the following : Visit the Surgeon who did the procedure. Ask for the procedure whether liver abscess was done ? Ask whether the drain was in the Liver Cyst or in the peritoneal cavity. Send the fluid for TB, Pus , any other cause. Fistulogram Further treatment may be necessary only if the drain does not stop.
