What Causes Left Chest Pain Radiating To The Arm?

I sometimes get a sharp pain in the left side of my chest (heart area), sometimes stronger than other times. Sometimes the pain runs down my left arm strongly and quickly. it has been happening more often as time goes on. I had a heart murmur when i was born but I was told it went away. Could i be developing a problem with my heart as time goes on? I am in fairly good health, not overweight and have no other health problems. I have used stimulants recreationally in the past, could this be contributing to the pain and should I stay away from them in the future?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, we should definitely rule out heart diseases first because you had murmur in past.
So get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg, 2d echo and stress test (trade mill test).
If all these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest and arm.
Avoid movements causing pain.
Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
