Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Left Chest Pain Upon Exhalation And Decreased Left Lower Breath Sounds?
I have been treated by a pylomonigist for decreased left lower breath sounds, thick sputum that cannot be expectorated, was on prednisone, levoquin, nebulized albuterol and over last 3 days I am developing much left chest pain on expiration, a sputom culture and sensitivity was ordered 3 days ago,I have no fever
Chest pain can be pleural in origin. I suggest you to wait for sputum culture report. The presence of infection indicates underlying infection. A course of antibiotic will resolve the infection of lower airways.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
