What Causes Left Knee And Upper Leg Pain In A Diabetic?

I have pain in my left knee to upper leg. Doesn t appear to have any heat or redness to it, but is growing progressively worse in the degree of pain it is causing. I am diabetic & have neuropathy, sciatica, pancreatitis (chronic), and COPD, back problems, & some middle degree of kidney problems. Don t smoke, or drink. Could this be a blood clot? Also have hypertension.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The diabetic patient with leg and knee pain indicates possible circulation disturbances with blood clot or neuropathy manifestation.

* It is best recommended to take a doppler ultrasound of the lower limb for complete diagnosis and further care as already you are on medications for neuropathy.

If you can share your reports, I can further guide you in better clinical backgrounds for sure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
