My dad has pain in his left shoulder blade. Pain increases with cough or sneeze and certain ways he bends. He was recently treated for pneumonia and had a surgical wound that cultured MRSA. The pain decreased when in the hospital but has gradually return since he has been home

Hi,

Possibly cold-sneezing & cough /some negligence aftercare had made the incision wound sore. The possibility of infection due to the stress.

He should have treatment for his cough & cold by his physician (decided according to his general condition & severity of symptoms)... take rest &care of the incision site as advised.

He can add Ibuprofen three times a day after eating. Till he sees his treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
