I am 65 and had a triple by pass 2 years ago, I ve started getting heart attack feelings in the upper left side of my chest, extreme pain shortness of breath, pain down the inner side of both arms, If I sit and take deep breaths it normally stops in a few minutes, is there any way the by pass of the upper artery have closed or some how adhere to it self.

What Causes Left Sided Chest Pain And Breathlessness In A Heart Patient?
Hi, Shortness of breath or chest pain during physical activity (angina) strongly suggest stenosis in the coronary artery. Valvular dysfunctions may also cause these symptoms; however, I assume that you must be checked with echocardiography before cardiac bypass. 2 years is a relatively short time for the development of a serious valvular stenosis/insufficiency from the beginning. Therefore I do not think it is valvular pathology, but you must visit your cardiologist as soon as possible. Echocardiography along with myocardial perfusion scintigraphy must be done for evaluating coronary arteries and myocardial status. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr HASAN MUTLU, General & Family Physician
