What Causes Left-sided Chest Pain And Numbness In The Arm?

I have recently been suffering from chest pain direcly above the left nipple area and a numbness of index and forefinger in left narm and hand I had an ekg done by my primary doctor that resulted in a normal result my dr. then sent me for a chest x-ray I am a 47 yearold male who has been smoking a pack per day since I was 16 years of age is this the best couse of treatment I have friends of mine agree with me that I am probabnly suffuring from a clogged arterie and might need a stent am I being properly treated so far?

For chest problem consult pulmonologist the other problem are neurological so can consult neurologist for examination and advise on treatment.
