What Causes Left-sided Chest Spasms Along With Burping?

Hi, I am a 69 yr old female with several heart conditions. I have an unrepaired hole in my heart and 2 valves that will need to be replaced in future. I also suffer from super ventricular tachycardia. For several weeks I have had episodes which seem to be unpainful slight spasms on the left side of my heart on the lower left. I am in another state from where I live. Should I be concerned? Tonight I have burping and a slight upset stomach which I take Prilosec for per doctor.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is better to consult a physician and go for an ECG to rule out cardiac causes. Most probably it could be due to gastritis secondary to acid reflux. As a first line management you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
