What Causes Left Sided Heaviness In Head, Ear And Neck?

i am 45 year and average buildup. for last 1 week , i have heaviness in the left side of my head just beside left ear and above neck. ( may be am not able to use appropriate word to describe) pressing the area gives me temporary relief i feel very restless with unique pain/heaviness

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have left sided heaviness in head, ear and neck . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to ETD . It usually occur due to spread of infection from upper respiratory track infection through eustachian tube in case it is left untreated for long time or low immunity . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without delay otherwise it can spread to middle and inner ear and complicate the condition . Doctor may order throat swab test , Ct scan , viral culture test , blood test and examination with otoscope to rule out condition like pulsative tinnitus . Doctor may prescribe amoxicillin or penicillin , decongestant , expectorant along with anti inflammatory . For now take steam twice a day and do warm saline gargles . Doctor may also refer you to dentist for TMJ problem .
