What Causes Left-sided Hip Pain Despite Taking Ibuprofen After An Injury?

I fell flat, very hard on my bottom and croch on cobblestone. Felt like my pelvis widened and my insides almost came out. Very healthy and active 62 year old woman. At first I thought that everything was OK. But then I tried to stand and walk. I could stand up straight and tap my heals on the ground. So no broken hip. But my left hip is soar deep around the hip itself and down the inside of my thigh. I was on crutches for about 1&1/2 weeks and then graduated to a cane. The shooting pain is mostly when I try to side step or not step perfectly straight. The pain has been managed fine with Ibuprofen. But I am still not able to easily walk after a month of dealing with this. I did not bruise, but I am not a person that bruises easily. I m able to sleep fine at night with very little pain. Walking any distance is a real issue. I get better and then worse again. I m always the care giver.......never the one needing the care. Any ideas???
