What Causes Left Sided Lower Abdominal Pain?

Hello;, I've been having what I will call an ache in the (at onset) lower left side of my abd, i was told that there was a fibroid there, which the gyn was able to feel, however, later i began to feel an pain in the upper left side of my abd;I feel it noteworthy to mention that I do not have regular bowel movements, and oftentime have to take a stool softner, could that be where this pain is coming from

HI. Yes, your history of left sided pain along with irregular bowel movements is suggestive of colitis. A course of an antibiotic with metronidazole for 5 days should be taken before going for further tests. If there is a complete response you need not do anything more..
Id no relief, colonoscopy is always advisable with biopsy if needed.
Fibroid does not cause such a pain.
