What Causes Left Sided Lower Chest Pain Upon Swallowing Food?

I am a 60-year-old man in good health. I am a missionary in the Amazon River bison Brazil For the past three days, there is pain in my left side chest when I burp, swallow food, or drink something. When I say side of my chest, I am talking about the far left side just below my breast. It feel like I bruised it or slept on it wrong but it doesn t seem to be getting any better. Any ideas?

From your description my opinion is that you should not be worried for the pain. It is most probably muscular pain.
If any patient with above symptoms visit my clinic I would ask him/her certain questions like
What is the duration of the pain?
Is it continuous or intermittent in nature?
Is it relived or aggravated by any change in posture?
Have you sought any treatment for the same?
