What Causes Left-sided Pain Below The Chest Of My 10-year-old Son?
My 10 years son has a pricking pain in the lower left chest below the rib area. This pain comes and fades away but today he has a continued pain. He normally complains that in school after lunch he feels the same kind of pain frequently. What could be the problem
As the pain is particularly after lunch at school, most likely associated with GERD or food induced stomach upset. Kindly follow basic guidelines as below: - Check that the school lunch should not contain dairy fat, oily, spices junk food or non veg items - Tell him to keep stomach empty by 20 % of satiety value - He should not run or jump just after eating meals - He must chew the food very thoroughly - Medication as proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole to be taken with sips of water on empty stomach. Consult his pediatrician for further guidelines as and when needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
