What Causes Left-sided Pain In Kidney Area And Hypertension?

I am a 43 year old male, I have beginning of hypertension, 145/84 and I am 245 lbs (obease?) I have a pain in my back left kidney area ( but it is not kidney stones or kidney related. I was checked out at an ER, and I am going to have a catscan or MRI in a couple of weeks. I have now started having a pain in my left foot in the ball-area and I am wondering if this is related to my back pan or my hypertension? I am a veteran. Thank you. Rob

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, I think that your pain is related with some musculoskeletal disorders, probably in your lower back and the pain in your feet at the same side is a nerve irradiation, is a great idea that you discard any kidneys diseases and lose weight is very convenient because the hypertension and the lower back pain could be symptoms that you are overloading your body at this moment some OTC icy/hot patch in your lower back an some anti-inflammatory pill can help you, don't miss your medical appointment and take care.I hope that my advice has been helpful
