What Causes Left-sided Pain Under The Rib Cage After Placing An ICD?

Oh ok! i am experiencing pain on my left side under my rib cage and to the back. It is difficult to breath in deeply without a lot of pain. I am also a diabetic, insulin dependent and in April had an icd implant for heart failure. I feel well other than this painful side pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is probably due to minor inflammation. As first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
