What Causes Left-sided Throat Redness And Skin Coloured Bump Under The Tongue?
I have noticed redness on the left side of my palatalglossal arch 2 weeks ago. Since then I have had body aches and joint discomfort on and off. No fever. Nothing on my tonsils such as white patches, On the arch I have white areas and a couple of red bumps and a large flesh colored bump or tag of tissue at the base close to the back of my tongue. Went to see a healthcare professional (PA) today and I received a steroid shot and advised more than likely drainage and allergies. Judging by how I feel I think it is something else. Could you help shed some light on other possibilities of illness. I have a picture to provide if needed. Thank you,Kim
Large red bump at the back of tongue seems to be due to inflammation of Circumvallate papillae that is most probably due to the associated cause..
So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a blood test and throat swab culture can be done for further confirmation..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and suck throat lozenges.. You can also do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. You can also suck Cepacol lozenges to relieve pain.. Avoid spicy, hard and irritant foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
