What Causes Leg Cramping And Constant Hot Flashes

How much will this cost? I am having leg cramps for the last three days. Mustard and vinegar is not getting rid of it. They have gone up to the middle of my thighs and hurting when I work. Yesterday I had hot flash all day long. Could this be a Charlie horse or blood clots? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In women, hot flashes can occur due to reduction in the hormone levels. Your age has not been mentioned. Your symptoms can indicate peri-menopausal phase. Non menopausal hot flashes can occur in case of thyroid dysfunction or other endocrine problems. Several medications have been shown to help with symptoms, including clonidine (a blood pressure medication), low doses of certain antidepressants and Gabapentin.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
