What Causes Leg Itching With Redness Which Is Spreading?

Hello Doctor, I am 27 years old female.There is itching in my leg for last 10 days. Its feel itchy and when i scratch, it goes red and gradually brown. First it has started with a very small part of my leg and now its getting wider(3-4 cm in width). What is this and is anything to worry about ?

Hi

You seem to have developed a chronic skin eczema called neurodermatitis.
This is basically an intensely itchy skin eczema.
You should avoid rubbing or scratching the area.
Apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone over the affected area twice daily.
Take some oral antihistamines like Benadryl or levocetrizine along to relieve the associated itching and allergy .
