What Causes Leg Pain And Palpitations When Suffering From Stress And Depression?

Hello there, i am a 42 year old female. I do at this time have alot of stress going on in my life(enough for 20 people ) The stress is at the point where i get very little to no sleep at all and cry alot. I have 2 sons 21 and 22 with drug problems and it is very hard to handle. For the last few days my left arm feels like it is made of cement, its very heavy and there is some pain, last night my left leg felt the same. I also feel my heart racing a bit. Any clue to whats going on. Thank you

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hi,
I can understand the stress that you are suffering from currently.
From your symptoms, it appears a case of mild depression with anxiety disorder, which can mimic heart problems, but however the origin is psychological.
I suggest a consultation to psychiatrist is very advisable.
An addition of SSRI group of drug with long acting benzodiazepines, and beta blocker course can be discussed with him.
Behaviour therapy sessions can be very useful.

regards,
Dr Pankaj Borade
