What Causes Leg Pain/numbness After Having Knee Injury?

I fell and hurt my knee last week and when I went to the doctor he said that I had fluid on my knee. Two days later i hit my knee again. The pain finally went away but no I am having some leg problems. My knee will start hurting the a sharp pain will shoot up my leg and then from my knee down will go numb.
