What Causes Lengthy Periods After Taking Elinest?

I had been taking Cryselle for a year with no problems, no spotting or extended period, but with my last prescription they gave me Elinest instead. They said it was supposed to be the same ingredients, however my period lasted an extra week and I have spotted the entire month. This was the only thing different.

Thanks for the query.
Both cryselle and elinest contains ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel.
After shifting to new pill it may take some time for the regularization of menstrual cycles.
So, possibly your cycles may regularize in few months.
Meanwhile you can take antifibrinolytic drugs or additional dose of hormones to control the bleeding with your doctor's advice.
