What Causes Lesions On Hips And Head While Suffering From Breast Cancer?

I have a niece who has terminal breast cancer in the last stage and it has spread. She is starting to get lesions on her hips on her shaved head. She just now texted me to say she is starting to have leaks(blood and pus) in her legs. She thinks it s not serious enough for her to go to the hospital. What do you think should be done at this point? Thank you so much!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The lesions on hips and head with a person suffering from breast cancer terminal stage is grave sign of underlying pathology. The most common cause would be from:
- Leucopenia (low WBC count)
- Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)
- Side effect of therapy such as chemotherapy or else
- Low immunity
- Vitamin deficiency such as vitamin C or others

She must be presented to an ER for immediate assessment and guidelines of cure before the condition worsens.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
