Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
It is normal to feel the movement of the baby in a different way as it gets bigger. In the late third trimester, the baby gets big enough that it cannot move around as easily in your
uterus, so you may feel fewer jabs and kicks and more rolling movements.
But the baby really shouldn't sleep more than 2 hours at a time, so you should feel the baby move at least every 2 hours while you are awake. If you haven't felt the baby move in a while, go somewhere quiet, lie down on your left side, and eat or drink something
cold. You should feel the baby kick or move at least six times in the next hour. If the baby does not move then you should go to the hospital so they can check the baby's heartbeat.
So I think you can be reassured after your doctor visit, but if you find when you pay attention that the baby isn't moving at all for an hour or more, then you should get immediate medical attention.
I hope I was able to answer your question today and that my advice was reassuring. Best wishes for the rest of the
pregnancy, Dr. Brown
