What Causes Lethargy, Dizziness, Chills And Itching After Taking Tramadol?

I am on 2 tramadol (50mg ea) pills every 6 hrs, but today after taking 2 pills at 8 am I became lathargic, dizzy and light headed, chills, itching all over. I stopped taking any more. I am 80 and had a bad fall in the bath tub, so the nurse prescribed the medicine, I am A FIB and am having knee replacement surgery Aug. 3rd. My husband is on dialysis and cannot drive me to the doctor...should I call first thing in the morning Thank you, Susan Bull

Hi,

It does cause increase sleepiness and shallow breathing at times so these were possibly side effects dear. If you are not comfortable you can stop taking the drugs but if you still have pain you can ask for the drug to be changed.
