What Causes Lethargy, Tiredness And Painful Joints?

Hi, i recently lost my job as the ceo of a large company. I am not too worried as i have other opportunities. However, i noticed that over the last two weeks, i have become very lethargic, excessively tired, my joints really hurt, especially my knees and i cant exercise at all. Im not sleeping and my mind is wondering all over the place. I dont feel right... Im 53 years old, 6ft 1 inches and 183kg. Have been healthy so far in life.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The symptoms you describe may be linked to stress from your new position and its related challenges.Other medical conditions like infection and metabolic disorders may however give you such a presentation.I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination and work-ups.You may need test like a full blood count, ESR, blood sugar test.If no infectious or metabolic cause identified, then your problem will surely be linked to your job.I will however advise the following:
-Rest well after work and try to take off work-related issues off your mind
-Eat healthy
-Take a pain drug like ibuprofen if joint pains serious
-Regular fitness exercises
-A sleeping pill like diazepam at bed time for say 5 days may help bring your sleep cycle back to normal
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
