Fatty liver is the accumulation of fat in the liver. It can progress to cause impaired liver function. Fatty liver can be due to alcohol or classified as NON alcoholic fatty liver.
Non alcoholic fatty liver disease tends to occur in persons who are overweight or obese, have diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and have poor eating habits. The fatty liver seen on imaging is very likely the cause of the increase in your liver enzymes (the sgot, sgpt).
Lifestyle changes can prevent any further worsening of your liver function. You may need to adjust your diet and increase your physical activity. Weight loss, though difficult, would be very helpful.
I hope this helps
