What Causes Light Bleeding From Ears While Cleaning?

I was cleaning my right ear with a coton bud and pushed to far down, when I removed the coton bud there was a fair amount of blood on it,it continued to bleed for that night,I woke up this morning to find that there was a patch of blood on my pillow. some of the blood has now dried up, there's just some bits in my ear where it looks like there is fresh blood still. any ideas on what it could be or how long it will take to heal on its own,or when the bleeding will stop properly.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC ..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your query there is a possibility that due to pushing the ear bud deep into ear there has been injury to the mucosa of the ear canal leading to bleeding..
In case if you are experiencing any other symptoms along with bleeding like reduced hearing or ringing there is a possible chance of perforation of ear drum..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can be diagnostic..
In case if there is injury to ear canal it will heal up gradually on its own..
In case if there is perforation of ear drum treatment will be decided depending upon the severity of damage..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
