What Causes Light Flashes In Right Eye And Lack Of Focus?

Hello, My girlfriend (61, reasonable shape) has had some flahes of light in her right eye over the last several days and this morning noticed that her right eye seems incapable of focusing at any distance, with or without her glasses. Is it ER time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Yes, it's an ophthalmologic emergency. It may lead to damaging her optic nerve permanantly. There are a lot of reasons of white light flashes and diminished vision, and lack of focus.

Ophthalmologist will do complete examination of her eye with ophthalmoscope and will tell what's going on in there.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
