What Causes Light Headedness With BP Under Control?

Hi I am a female aged 68 and am on blood pressure tablets, although my blood pressure is under control. Recently I have been having physio to help with flat feet. Yesterday and today when I got down on the floor I felt very light headed and the room swam a bit. Once I sat down again it was ok.

Hi,welcome to HCM,
Lightheadedness is more common in hypertensives who are on antihypertensive medications. This side effect is due to sudden drop in blood pressure leading to reduced blood supply to brain causing dizziness. It is also essential for you to rule out episode of low blood sugar-hypoglycemia,which can be yet another side effect of antihypertensive drugs. So i suggest blood sugar estimation.Treatment of this dizziness includes dose rescheduling of antihypertensive drugs probably lowest doses will be better in preventing such episodes.Tilt table testing and screening 2D echo can provide vital info on autonomic nervous system and cardiac functional reserve.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
thank you
