What Causes Light Headedness With A Ringing Sound In The Ears?

For years now, when I attempt to sleep on my stomach, I get light headed. The light headedness is accompanied by ringing in my ears. The symptoms do not last long. But they are bothersome enough to be concerned. Should I see my PCP or am I being paranoid?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of lightheadedness with a ringing sound in the ears which is because of condition known as tinnitus. Tinnitus can occur due to many reasons like stress , TMJ , ear infection , wisdom tooth and acoustic neuroma. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water , take proper rest and eat healthy. Consult ENT specialist once and discuss this problem and start treatment after complete prescription. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. You should take proper course of antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. You should get otoscopic examination done and start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
