What Causes Light Headedness?

Why do I feel light headed out of nowhere? I believe I am well hydrated and have a decent diet. However, the last few days I have been getting light headed out of no where. Sometimes I actually feel like I might pass out. It lasts several seconds then goes away for a while. Any idea what that could be?

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Light headedness lasting a few seconds with a feeling of being passing out appears likely to be due to postural hypotension or syncope(though it is not a frank syncope episode as it is not associated with loss of consciousness).
I would have asked you a few questions in order to answer your query better:
1)Are you a diabetic?Any other medical history?Hypertension or cardiac disorder?
2)Are you on any drugs? If yes, please list them.
3)Is it always while you are standing or even in lying down position?

Please ask a follow -up question with the above details and I hope to answer your query well.I hope it helps.
