What Causes Light Spotting Between Periods, Cramps And Abdominal Pain?

I typically have heavier periods and beginning last month I missed my period by 9 days and when it finally did come it was very light barely there and lasted only three days and returned a couple days later. This scenario lasted two weeks and finally stopped. I had all the signs associated with my period; cravings, bloating, tenderness in the breast, cramps,etc. Today is August 7th and I typically begin my cycle beginning the 11th but Im experiencing mild cramps and abdominal pain with orangish spotting this time but only when I wipe.
