What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding After Taking An I-pill?

Hi Doctor, I had sex with my husband on 7th October and he used a pull out method. Again we had sex on 21 October and I had ipill on the same day eod. every time he used pull out method. My periods was due on 3rd Nov. I got it early by 30 October , but with very light discharge almost nil in brown/dark color for 2 -3 days. Now I am worried is there a chance of pregnancy or tubal preganncy as I had the same history 7 years back. I have a daughter of 6 years old. hope you can help me. thanks, Nithya

Hello,

However, it is normal to experience period-type bleeding when you are taking a combined contraceptive pill which contains the two hormones estrogen and progesterone.

These pills are usually taken for three weeks, with a one-week pill break during which you are likely to notice bleeding.
