What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills?

Haven t had a period for 13 years. My dr. put me on birth control pills to get me regulated. Ended up with a blood clot and have stints now in my leg. Just started again after 13 years. Not heavy but not light. Could I now be going through menopause? I will be 58 this year

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you should consult a gynecologist for the complete examination. Get a pelvic examination done to rule out any cervical pathology. Also, get an ultrasound done to see endometrial thickness. If endometrial thickness is more than 4 mm, you may need an endometrial biopsy to rule out any endometrial pathology. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Postmenopausal bleeding should not be ignored even, if light.
