What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding, stomach Bloating And Headache?

Hello, I am 46 and am experiencing some seemingly unusual symptoms. In general I have been bleeding a small amount from my vaginal area- very small but has been the last 5 or 6 days. Prior to that time I had a regular period ending a week or so before. I am also dealing with stomach bloat, several bowel movements daily and just some slight other unusual feelings- a bit chilled at times, and a headache which I normally never have. I have been in the desert for the last 2 months and have had exposure to a lot of sun and heat of course. While I normally take no pills I have been taking Advil, mostly from tennis aches and pains.and took 2 hydrocodones 2 nights in a row because I thought it would help but I realize that was a mistake because in addition to those pills I was given some natural pills, Arnica Montana 30x and Bromelain. These were from a cosmetic doctor after some cosmetic injections. Upon reading and researching I wonder if this combination has caused my recent discomfort. Finally, if you saw me play tennis and observed my normal activity I would appear perfectly normal, so I don t think it s anything serious. I am in great health and incredibly strong and positive. Can you please share any insight you may have on this matter. Thank you.

Hi,

The symptoms you are experiencing could be due to various causes, and it would be best to consult with a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. The light vaginal bleeding may be due to hormonal changes or irregularities, especially given your age. However, it could also be a sign of an underlying condition such as an infection, cervical or uterine polyps, or fibroids.

Stomach bloating and several bowel movements daily could be due to dietary changes, stress, or certain medical conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The headache could be a side effect of the medication you have been taking, including Advil and hydrocodone. Arnica Montana and Bromelain are not typically associated with headaches, but it is still possible that they could be contributing to your symptoms.

Exposure to the sun and heat can also cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalances, which may contribute to your symptoms. It is important to discuss your symptoms with a healthcare provider, who can evaluate your medical history, perform a physical exam, and order any necessary tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms. Based on the diagnosis, appropriate treatment options can be recommended.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
