Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started the pill for the first time ever on Thursday when I got some light spotting so I assumed it was the first day of my period, however after taking it it was really light on Thursday and Friday and it now appears to have stopped (my periods are normally heavy and last 5 days), is this normal and could be affected by the pill or could I be pregnant?
Some people experience light spotting and heavy bleeding the way you have experienced when you start taking contraceptive pill. This is because they are hormones and your body needs some time to react and get adjusted to it. But after 3 or 4 cycles, this should normalize. If not, get evaluated by visiting a Gynecologist.
