What Causes Lightening Of Skin On The Area Of Cordran Application?

Hi! My niece went to a dermatologist b/c of a reaction to mosquito bites. The Dr. gave her Cordran lotion which she applied to the bite sites. The following morning, she noticed that the ares of skin where she had applied the lotion appear to have been bleached, and she now has multiple areas of lightened skin. Is this reaction permanent, or will her skin return to its normal pigmentation? Thank you for your advice!

Hi.
As per your case history of lightening of skin on applying cordan lotion my treatment advice is -
1. Stop applying cordan lotion as it contains steroid which may cause skin depigmentation.
2. It is reversible condition. So don't worry about it.
3. You can apply tacrolimus 0.03% ointment on it for faster results.

Thanks.
