What Causes Lighter Menstruation While On Mercilon?

Hi if been on mercilon for almost 8 months and my cycle was 28 days every month. This month I only menstruated for two days and there weren t that much blood(light bleeding). Is there a possibility that I could be pregnant, and why did I menstruate 4-5days (medium flow) and this month only two days (light flow)?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Kindly perform an urine pregnancy test to rule out the chances of pregnancy.

Changes in your normal routine can affect your hormones and cause your period to come early or late. Typically, you will get your period two weeks after you ovulate. So, sometimes ovulation happens a week early. In other words, if you ovulate a week early, your period will start a week early as well.

Dieting,Severe exercise, excess weight loss and sometimes long travel,Nutritional deficiencies can cause absent or delayed periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
Dr.Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
