What Causes Lighter Periods Than Normal After Sex?

Hi, my girlfriend and I last had sex about three months ago and he told me her periods were monthly, but about a week later and they are lighter than usual. Also she is in the Army training just about everyday and her diet changed. Is there a chance she could be pregnant?
