What Causes Lightheadedness, Nausea And Breathlessness?

I have been feeling light headed all morning with a feeling of nausea, which I have often. Then I had a sort of pressure in my chest - almost like I have eaten something that has lodged itself (I haven t) and with this a shortness of breath. I am a 52 year old woman, currently teaching in a classroom - and feeling concerned? Should I go to the doctors??

Hello,
I have gone through your query and would like to offer my opinion. I would ask you to report the matter to your health care provider immediately since shortness of breath with heaviness in the chest is not to be taken lightly. As you could be in the perimenopause/menopause, there is an enhanced risk of cardiac problems. It is also possible that it could be some gastrointestinal problem or gaseous distension, but, to suspect the worst is always a better choice. You also need to have your blood pressure and other vitals checked, apart from getting an ECG. Hope this helps.
